Ella, with little more than a few shops, guesthouses and hotels, is a beautiful, small and friendly village in the hills of Sri Lanka. As well as boasting an idyllic climate it occupies a very scenic vantage point with views on a fine day stretching right across the south coast of Sri Lanka.
Waterfalls Homestay is situated on a picturesque stretch of road approximately 1.5 kilometers from the center of Ella town, an enjoyable stroll from the main street that’s definitely worth venturing off the beaten track for.
If traveling independently there are plenty of 3 wheelers happy to bring you here. The cost from the village is around 300 rupees and from the train station around 400 (but of course as with most things in Sri Lanka prices are dependent on your negotiation skills 🙂
